YOE : 1.5 years in India Microsoft L60 in Redmond Office: Team: Dynamic Fraud Protection in Business Application Group Base: 118k Stocks : 130k for 3.5 years Joining Bonus : 50k (25k first year + 25k second year) Performance bonus: 10% to 20% Amazon L4 Bay Area(Palo Alto): Team : Ad Forecasting Service in A9 Base: 128k Stocks: 95k for 4 years Joining Bonus: 66k(40k first year + 26k second year) Performance bonus: Nothing mentioned Please help me evaluate these offers. Any response regarding salary, teams, etc. will be highly appreciated! Tried negotiating with Microsoft once but they are not budging and Amazon is also not budging.
The Microsoft offer is really good but you’ll be underpaid after year 4 The amazon offer is really good but you’ll be burned out after year 1 I’d take Microsoft, then switch to Amazon or other after you put 2-4 years in at Microsoft. Reasons being pay is higher, benefits are way better, and wlb will be better. Also Redmond is much cheaper than Palo Alto, and Microsoft HQ is a short distance from Amazon HQ so it’s easy to bounce between the two.

A9 is a good team in ad space. Quick question : How did you apply for MSFT Redmond? And on which Visa will they take you to US directly from India ? Afaik H1B is only lottery right?
A9 is awesome have a friend who works there and really likes the work
