Got offer from Coinbase, 190k base 50k$ options per year no bonus, how is this offer? Not much information on levels.fyi current TC 190K YOE 9 Senior Software Engineer
190k base seems about right. 50k options seems VERY low.
Would 100k sounds good
Depends on leveling/responsibilities. But, you could get 400k+ TC at other places with 9 YOE. So, you need to figure out what the RSUs will potentially grow to given their current valuation and when you think those RSUs will become worth something.
Tbh, I’d ask for more bonus than their equity. Their IPO wouldn’t look good IF they go IPO

They were valued 8 bn in last valuations increasing from 1.2 bn year before
Good base. Moar other stuff needed.
My friend was working there with 5 YoE his offer was 180k base with 1M options vest over 4 years. He left within his 1st year when he understood options meant nothing
Just curious how did he evaluated 1M options. Also was there any annual bonus, signing bonus etc?
He left before 1st year he couldn't exercise anything. He told me he can't exercise even if it was just after his 1st year because by some agreement he's only allowed to keep the options 1 year after quitting. He told me no annual bonus is mentioned. Signing bonus i can't remember i think it was 25-50k range
Location? If Bay Area, you could do better IMO. Ask for a lot more options if you want to risk it going for a startup. Think about if you were at a FAANG, how much money would you make instead? Then know that Coinbase should be much better since you’re also taking a huge risk.
What is the pay like at those companies?
Generally check levels.fyi For example in the Bay Area, with 10 YOE you could fetch 400k-600k. With 5 YOE, 250-400k. Keep in mind the benefits and amenities are much better at “name brand” companies too. A lot of course depends on your work history and skillset, plus interview performance.
Where did OP go finally?
What questions were you asked on phone screen for Coinbase?
Use your own IDE to integrate with an API. Make sure your dev env is ready to make Get request and parse JSON response
Was this through a hackerrank coderpad? My Interview is through that
Any tips for the onsite ?
Yoe?
