Is this good for a Program Manager role ?
How much room do I have for negotiation knowing its Sony?
Current TC 140K Seattle, 2 yrs Amazon experience, 6 industry experience
- Comp at Sony sucks relative to other tech places. Bonuses can be really good (they are now, and when I left a few years ago). When I left I was at 137K and 35% bonuses, senior engineer. I was close to Staff.
My guess is you are on the high end of their Senior level, would move to Staff soon if your manager is good at driving that. Bonuses will be good as long as Sony is good, but I imagine first year could be quiet because you’d be new.
This is assuming my mappings from PMs to Engineers make sense. Could be totally wrong.
- Palo Alto Networks LWtE67Sony comp is decent but no high-fliers like Devs at FAANGs etc... For a Program Mgr role this is a great offer. That field tends to top out pretty low, but allows people to build VP level skills in certain things that reflect well in corporations when coupled with diverse experiences
- Good question, sorry. I was hired at 15%, upgraded to 20% as baseline. My last two years I was awarded 30%+.
I suspected it was a function of how good PS4 was doing versus my work, but couldn’t get any real answers. As in...I suspect if PS4 sales went down and I was still doing good work, my bonus would go down.May 22 0
