I recently spoke with a recruiter from Spotify for a Analytics Manager position in Accounting/Finance. We had a very open conversation about salary expectation. I basically told the recruiter that although I have not done much research myself but I would like to get at least $160K. The recruiter mentioned that the budget for the position is $145K but she thinks $160K is attainable. However, after my performance review last week, I realized that my total compensation is at $160K in my current company. I have had couple of good interviews with the managers including the hiring manager. They openly discussed about their immediate need along with their interest in hiring me. I want to move to Spotify given that this doesn't become a lateral jump. If offered, I would like to ask for at least $180K for this role. Would it be professionally okay to go back, and ask for a reconsideration in the salary to the HR? How can I make my case competent given that I made a mistake calculating my current TC?

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
As long as you didn't agree on an offer, if is always ok. Do what you need to do
