How is Okta as a company? And how is the new HQ South in San Jose? Interviewing for a position that will sit there.
It's good
SJC office is chill and new.
Where is their new office?
No idea who sits there. This is a non - eng role
Good time to join Okta. Industry leader - defined this market, high growth, stock is doing extremely well. The co founders and amazing and great to work for. The impact of the work you're doing really shows. But like any growth company it has its cons. Some processes are still unstructured. But overall it's a great company with a huge market opportunity and great culture.
Okta has been a great career move for me. I joined about a year ago (came from Adobe) and I’ve gotten to work on projects that I never would’ve gotten to work on at a larger company. We’re growing fast and it’s a lot of work (and I do mean a lot) but I’m having so much fun and can honestly say that I wake up excited to start my work day most of the time (I’d be lying if I said there weren’t some days I dread starting the work day as well but that’s with any job.) I can’t speak for the SJ office, I’m remote and then visit HQ about once or twice per quarter. I can say that Okta is not very “remote” or “satellite office” employee friendly yet. They’re just starting to branch outside of HQ so it’s change management to get people to think outside of HQ and you’ve got to do your due diligence to network and be “seen” by people at HQ which sucks sometimes but that will get better as we keep growing and adding people at other campuses and/or remote folks. Overall, 10/10 would recommend Okta to anyone willing to work hard, get stuff done, and have fun while doing it.
It’s a great company doing good things. We use them at Adobe. Their SJ office is right across from Adobe SJ. It’s one floor of that building.
I'm in the sj office. It's great and is typical of sj work culture - more people with families. Its hard to find a hot company in the sj area and so okta opening hq south was a blessing
Their SSO is super easy to integrate so that’s a yes for me dawg
