I have an Okta Torronto offer for Staff Software Engineer 140k CAD, 130k USD Stocks over 4 years. Another offer from Microsoft Hyderabad, India for 25Lack INR, 45k USD stock, level 62. Would it make sense to take MS offer and move to Redmond after 1 year or go with Okta offer? How much would MS compensate for L62 @Redmond? Long term I am looking for stable career and be market worthy over next 5 to 10 years.
Its hard to move to Redmond at 62 ; bake that into your decision making
Other thing about 62 will be the pay band... You're going to get stuck at a very costly area (Seattle) having to get a difficult promo (no Sr to St)

Okta Toronto is better offer. Think of what you have in hand now.
It's really expensive in Seattle. You'll want to beer making $120+bonus at Microsoft to be comfortable here. Toronto with that much cash is really nice. No idea on Hyderabad.

Take the toronto offer. If you move after 1 year, career wise you will be stsrting a fresh at 62 level in US. Also the base pay is going to be similar to what toronto is paying at 62. The difference will come in stocks as its going to be way less than toronto offer. From someone who moved recently at 62
I'm the one who started this post. Forgot my original blind password... Looking back after 1 year from now. I'm still in Microsoft Hyderabad at Level 62. The 5000 shares of Okta are worth 250k now and the 658 shares of MS worth only 65k now. How do I make up for the difference in this lost financial opportunity in the long run?! Long term, is Azure still a better bet than Okta, in terms of career growth, learning & pay?
