One Medical MD Availability

What’s going on within One Medical? When it first launched, it was an incredibly refreshing perspective on finding a doctor and the patient experience. Nowadays, every single office has either zero appointment availability or only NPs seeing patients. It’s almost like all of the MDs have left or they aren’t allowing patients to see MDs directly unless internally directed after screening. I get that it’s a popular service provider in the Bay Area, but if it’s impossible to see a doctor, what are we even paying for?

Which office do you typically use? And do you already have a PCP assigned or do you see whoever is available?

I'm in Seattle and never have a problem getting an appointment with my primary care provider at One Medical, who is an MD. What is wrong with getting an NP though? The NP's I've worked with in the past have been every bit as competent as an MD/ND.

One Medical seems to have changed a bit after that private equity firm took a minority stake in the company last year.
