Director of PM (M4) in Oracle Cloud or Principal PM at a late stage startup? What will make you choose one or the other?
Stage in life (kids?), affinity to risk, belief in vision of startup, startup funding and ownership structure, startup offer (stocks), influence in startup, market impact and projection of startup just to name a few
OP, forgive the insensitivity here. Greed runs amuk. Personally, if TC and benefits are comparable, I would pick the startup. M4 at Oracle is nice, but directors are a dime a dozen and you’ll be stuck there with no pay increase for years. Go to the startup where you have some room to make a real difference and set your sights on a future CEO position at another startup. What is life without risk?
Plus, trust me, it will take months to get a written offer at O.
Thinking about Oracle b/c of ROI for 1-2 yrs. Less work and good comp?
@ oracle it depends which cloud org Saas paas or iaas and the TC If ur initial TC is good at M4 level You will do well down the road if you stay as one of the top performer in the org. Post ur TC ?
Offer for M4 is around $300K. Don’t know if it’s good or bad.
