My wife took break from work for last 4 years due to health and family reasons and now wants to join the tech world. What are options and how to go about it?
Look for the “Path forward” program online. Other than that, she can join the “Women in Tech” and “Girls who code” groups. She should also connect back with folks on her past teams - LinkedIn. At least 1-2 will respond out of every 10 connections and requests she makes.

Play the minority card. Recruiters are pressured to meet targets for monitory groups. Don't second guess yourself, don't try to compete on equal ground. The game isn't fair so play the cards you can without guilt. This means going to events reserved to women only. Also some teams have management pressured to show diversity in employment higher than others. Such as msit will be more likely to hire women than most product teams (but if you land a job in the product team you should take it over msit).
I'd imagine with Tech background and the fact she has a good reason for being out of the workforce, she could get through fine. Brush up on interviewing and don't lose hope with few rejections. My spouse was in a similar situation a few years back and working now ...
