PM on-site interview @ Cruise: Got standard rejection email before I even reached home

I travelled across continent for the onsite. The interview wasn't difficult at all. Met great team members. Had good discussions but no idea what went wrong. Is there any way to get feedback? YOE: 8

Did you interview in CA?

Yes

I see. Sorry can’t help you. I just asked a question about why I keep failing interviews. I had a few like yours, seemed completely easy but I got a reject letter early next day.

You could ask for feedback, ever thought of that?

General Motors uf6dd07 OP Oct 30, 2019

I did but didn't get any

Well that’s the brakes. What else are you expecting?

Call talk to the recruiter. See what you can get back. If they don’t follow up send them an email. If nothing after that might just have to move on or try reaching out to the people you interviewed with directly. Someone might take the time to give you feedback

I thought CA is not that competitive

lol just because there's a lot of people in tech here doesn't mean it's not competitive

Would you rather them send the exact same email 2 weeks later?

I'm getting ready for an on-site at cruise and one thing I was told was that if ANYBODY on the panels says no... That's it. For the most part on things like this... It's some vague personality thing.

Will the person you're having lunch with also count? I did disagree with him on few things

Intuitive Surgical czmM52 Oct 31, 2019

Not sure. But I would guess yes.
