As someone who received those offers for Europe, they are not the same compensation. Palantir is double, ignoring the stock.

It seems it will be fairly close after bonus at GS? That is of course very variable but I do want to make a choice looking beyond the TC nonetheless. How did you make your choice at that point in time? Thanks!

If palantir is still handing out options as part of the comp package, they will be worthless. As in underwater from day 0. So don’t fall for the big numbers. Delta at palantir depends heavily on deployment. Some are absolute clusterfucks that you’ll get dumped onto with nobody else on the impl team to support you. Good news for you is that you’ll also have next to no say in where you’re going as a new hire! On the other hand, my impression of GS’s SWE org is pretty negative overall. Plus, swe work at a place like GS isn’t all that sexy since you’re a second class citizen to the actual moneymakers.

Thanks, I will keep the options thing in mind. Palantir definitely sounds like a trial by fire environment.

I heard Palantir moved from options to RSUs for everybody - seems like there’s an exit incoming in the next few years

There is a nontrivial + growing # of former GS devs @ Palantir, but comparatively few former Palantir devs @ GS.

is this saying GS is more selective or that Palantir is more attractive?
