Hey guys, Can anyone give some insights into the onsite interview loop for an SRE role @ PAN? Heard there is some kind of troubleshooting part for the onsite - just wondering if there are some "gotcha" things to know beforehand.
SRE is a newish role here and it is definitely not just a VMware admin. They are involved in stuff like private/public cloud infrastructure, developer workflows, data processing systems, and physical infrastructure. The company has gotten big and is continuing to grow fast, and I believe the SRE team was started to make sure our systems scale with the company. There will likely be both system design and coding questions.
There are all sort of new people new department recruiting. Which means we are continue growing. Just try your best to get in.
PM’d you OP
Did u get an offer ?
How was the interview?
Not really SRE. More like “VMWare Sysadmin”. Or “cloud engineer”. You could definitely do some cool stuff / 100% cloud native things, but ur team will likely be stuck / obsessed with old VMWare world. Won’t be any help. Hence the hiring new people.
Good to know!
There are plenty of teams running infra in the public cloud and don't face this problem.
