Just found out that if I take parental leave, it pushes out my vest dates for the amount time I am gone beyond 2 weeks. Is this the case at every company? Or is this Amazon being shitty? If I take 6 weeks off, it pushes out all future vest dates by a month. For literally the rest of my career at Amazon. Wtf is this bullshit?
Didn't know about it.. That sucks
that is shitty
Not for your whole career. Just for outstanding grants
Ah. Thanks for clarifying. I asked the case worker (this requires a case worker!?) And he explicitly confirmed that it would last my whole career. He's probably mistaken. It makes sense that it would only apply to outstanding grants.
Oh, fuck. I'm getting more grants in a few weeks. Goddammit.
This is what the case worker told me after I applied. It's accurate.

If you vote for Biden this year, don't complain about layoffs
Seems like it would be fairly standard but does suck for amazon employees since RSUs are such a huge factor in TC
I'm still employed. I still get insurance. This seems ridiculous to me.
I don't think that it impacts stuff like this at Intel, but while you are on leave you are actually not being paid by Intel, you are being paid by a 3rd party. There may be some technicality around you actually being employed at Amazon or not during that time.
