Paternity leave after 2 weeks of new job ?

TC: 270K My initial date of joining at LinkedIn was July 29 and I informed the recruiter and my hiring manager about my paternity leave ( outside US ) plans for 2 weeks starting from August last week. Now my joining date is changed to August 12 due to delay in visa transfer. What should i do in this situation ? 1 Join LinkedIn on August 12 and take 2-3 weeks paternity leave as planned. ( I know i cannot have the privilege to take lot of leaves being a new joiner but is it possible to go on a vacation after just 2 weeks of new job ? ) 2. Continue with my current job, go on a vacation and join new job after vacations. 3. Resign from my current job, take a break between jobs and join new job after paternity vacation. TIA

Ask the hiring manager? I would do 1 if I were you, that way you have joined and there’s no uncertainty.

1 or 3. But I would recommend that you talk to the HR about the feasibility of option 1

It's very common for people to go on a vacation soon after joining. Just let the HR and your manager know now so that they are not surprised.

Prefer 1 over 3. But check with hiring manager

Ask for what's standard at the company. You'll regret going for the lowest amount especially if it's your first kid

I would do 1. It’s not that uncommon as long as Hiring Manager is aware. Someone joined my team for 1 week then went on 4 week wedding and honeymoon, zero issues.
