I have joined recently. My wife is expecting. Wanted to know how many months of paternity leave we get in Microsoft . Is it paid leave?

Also your vesting schedule will be pushed out by the number of weeks you take.

12 weeks. Paid. But that pay does not count towards you bonus, so your bonus will be prorated.

Thanks, is there any policy to be in company for 1 year before applying for paternity leave?

One odd rule of the MS parental leave policy is if the baby was born before your start date, you still qualify. I knew someone that had a 3 month old when they started and took the parental leave shortly after starting.

Does performance, connect, promotion get in problem after taking parental leave?

  • I don't think vesting schedule changes, but not sure

Don’t think it does. Anything that would vest during leave vests when you come back, but I don’t think the other vesting dates change.
