Paused IT career in H4 visa
This might appear like same old story to many of you..But this is #mystory. Used to work as a MSFT(level 59) @Bangalore MS Left job to join spouse works for Product Based company in US(H1B) Bagged an awesome job offer in AWS (level 4) unfortunately application didn’t went through the H1B cap lottery.Major setback :( and with 5 years of work experience and 3 years of career gap what are my options?! Don’t have H4 EAD yet.(with its current situation not sure if in future it will help me anyway.) Experienced in system and Infra IT stuff,not much coding/language (development)knowledge. Meanwhile atm doing IT/cloud certifications. Engaged in Volunteering /Networking I am lost with almost no hope,less-confidence and low self-esteem.😒 No judging/negative comments please.
Join amazon on L1. Amazon is hiring a lot of L1 from India. If H1b is an issues try L1 route in amazon. Amazon has unlimited L1 visa. @ amazon
If I understood it right, that requires to go back to India and start job hunting if fortunate enough getting a job in Amazon with 3 yrs career gap..then coming back here with L1
Since you all ready have offer from amazon in USA. just tell the recruiter to process L1 visa. They will give a job offer in India and then process you as an India employee to HQ. amazon has So many L1 employees who just get hired and deployed to HQ. FYI- so many employees with L1 and OPT at amazon.
H4 EAD is still not dead yet. You have a fighting chance. There will be lawsuits which will further delay the law making process. Long story short, if your h1b spouse can get an I-140 soon, you should go ahead and apply for the EAD. My guess is that DHS and DOL will apply the same phase out principal as they did for DACA. That should give u a couple of years. After that, who knows what might happen next !

Unfortunately this is a difficult time for dependents. Just know that you're not alone. There are 70k folks with the same concerns. My wife for example is on a H4 EAD and is working happily but we always have to deal with the uncertainty of what's going to happen next. All we can do is hope. I've seen close friends getting divorced and families torn apart just because H4 dependents have to deal with this work authorization non sense. Hope you stay positive through all this, good luck !

Doesn't MSFT India send ppl to US on L1 visa. Did you try that route?
Yes you know right..They do send but tenure guys with level 6-7 on L1
Could try msft/amazon Vancouver, then l1 switch down
