After my interview, company are asking me for expected compensation and 3 recent pay slips. What should i reply? I have done freelancing work 2 years and done internship as well. But not in last 3 months. Can i show these payslips.
Lol that's so nosy.
If you're in California, it's illegal for them to do it.
Also a bunch of other states and cities.
Lmao what? Don't they know you're applying for a new grad role? Say you don't have pay slips because you're in school, as for expected compensation just say you're expecting the market rate.
I have worked as a free lancer. Will that pay slip not count?
The point is that it's not in your interest to provide them with previous payslips
Tell them your expected compensation and decline to provide previous paychecks. Ask them why they are asking for old payslips. If itโs to verify previous employment, give them HR phone numbers for the old companies instead. Do not give them old payslips, itโs out of bounds for them to be asking for that. They probably just want to use that information to give you a low ball offer of 5% more than you used to earn to save themselves money and exploit your youth and lack of experience more.
Its actually a common practice in Indian companies except for Tier1 companies maybe

Asking for pay slips is weird. Donโt do that, even if you donโt have any. Asking expected compensation is normal business.
Should i remind them of grad
I would ignore that portion of the request and maybe give them expected TC if you want.
