Hey guys, I was planning to move to Bay Area and wanted to find out how much your paycheck is after taxes. i see lot of blinders post insane TC but I am only talking about base pay here. Im on H1b so if we pay more or less taxes please let me know. TC: 90k
Did you check average house price in the bay before moving? Compared with your current location?
I’m not married so I can share a 2 bedroom or something. I did see that Bay Area is 250 percent more than my present location
What may motivate people to live in 2br with roommates? That is disgusting. 250 percent sounds lower than the reality. It is probably 500% or more. What is your zip code?
Last year, my TC was 650k. I paid about 250k in taxes. About 120k in living costs and other deductions.
Shit. Is that 10k/mo including food and other necessities or just mortgage?
I included other non-tax deductions as well, like 401k and medical. I am pretty frugal. I only spend 3500 on rent and don't drive a car. My living costs are well under 100k

Second this. If you put in your allowances, withholding, benefits, etc. correctly, it'll give you your exact paycheck within 10 cents (in my experience). Just check your paystub for that info.
For example, 400k in Sunnyvale is equivalent to 360k in Seattle. Same take home pay.
