My total comp is 180k all cash with 2 years exp. I don’t see a path to promotion until at least maybe another year which would bring me to 200k all cash. Is it worth it to join as an L3 for ~170k TC?
I got 13 years of experience and a tech lead at some no name company and for the right project I would join for L3 pay.
Lol, this is really short sighted. I bet you make little money.
Make your question as a poll. You may capture more data to make a good decision.
Done. Thanks
Would you make more after 1-2 years? That's how I looked at it and took the leap.
Your path at a FAANG will surpass 200 much quicker than a promotion and staying at 200. Plus, they should be able to match your current TC
No. Stay put for another 18 months . If you don't get promoted in 18 months, leave immediately.
I had same question and I am preparing to make a move & take pay cut soon. FAANG >>>> Credit Karma for career.
So you’re excluding RSU from your comp at CK?
Can we sell RSU? FAANG stocks are real. Besides, career growth & problems at FAANG are also better than us, isn't it?
Look, FB is way better. However it’s not providing all the information by not disclosing the RSU. Disclose all the information and then let people vote. I agree CK IPO not likely anytime soon, however Silverlake paid $500M for CK common equity so they are worth something.
You have to see all the perks that the new job provide, that is extra cash if you utilize those perks
CK has good perks and a $5k PDP budget.

Yes. Most FAANG companies match your current compensation.
