Lot of us on H1B stay away from family and it's a constant dilemma whether to move back or not. People who moved back, I would love to hear about your journey. Was it difficult to get adjusted to the lifestyle changes? People who didn't, do you regret on not moving back?
Right now, conditions are perfect for me to take that leap of faith and move back to home country. But bay area being the tech hub, I'm worried about how it will impact my career. What other things should I worry about?

I'll definitely move back home or probably to Canada. The US is good if you are young, healthy and single, But I definitely wouldn't make the mistake of retiring here because of the insane medical costs. Having kids here is also extremely expensive. Another big issue is that my tax money goes into all these needless wars and cruelty by the US govt. Looks like they already interested in a war with Iran. Honestly I wouldn't have moved to the US if I'm not a software developer. Only here coz of $$

I know couple of my undergrad juniors just started streaming video service for marriages - which seems to be huge profitable business in local community.

Is it that one can stream their own marriage video or is it like Netflix but videos of marriages of people in your community?

What would impact ur career? Every h1b says, “if I have GC I would start a company... “, lost my freedom....”. There are lot of problems to solve in home country - even in a village ; u could use tech to solve lot of simple and daily problems. Since u r from google and has Bay Area exposure - people will respect and u will have ur influence on them. For example - lot of school administrations doesn’t have any software to manage school activities. You could just make a contract with govt and improve their system. Agriculture industry doesn’t have enough exposure to tech ? A simple weather and alert system might help farmers. I am just giving random examples, not sure if it works or not. You could replicate solutions in USA easily for a specific community or place.
