I don't have a recommendation of a personal trainer, but I can give some tips. It mostly comes down to consistency. What is "a while"? How many times a week are you lifting? Are you giving yourself enough rest? Grouping complimentary muscles into the workout? Are you eating enough protein for your muscles to properly prepare?
Been lifting for 3 years. Lately been following 5x5 3 days per week. Have gained ~10 lbs of lean muscle in the past 6 months. But want to get shredded further and starting to struggle with diet consistency, macro mix. It all sounds a bit too much to manage to get to the next level and I am hoping someone helping me manage all this will likely be helpful.
If you are going for body builder shredded then you are probably right. If you are just looking to look good at the beach, you probably don't have to take it to that level. Eat plenty of lean protein and eat less calories than you burn in a day. You'll cut to the level that you're looking for. Make sure you cheat every now and then, but not more than once every other week! Best way I've found to stick to my diet.
