Pets and humans?
Why are people obsessed with pets?? I have nothing against pets, but when people are all about their pets I am kinda lost. This is something I noticed in both the genders. I have a friend that owns 3 cats and that's all she speaks about, she keeps sending their pictures. I said "cute" to the one time she sent me, then there was this train of cat pics and now I am repelled. Well this could apply to babies too! I have seen guys do that with dog pics too, their Instagram is flooded with their pets. Their lives revolve around the pet. P.S - Pet owners, don't bash me, I like pets and they are cute. This question is more so for non-pet owners who feel lost like me.
Your main problem seems to be with pet owners/parents who lack common sense.
I am trying to understand why some people rely on their pets so much. Is it more a psychological dependency? Truth is I just dont know how to relate to people who are this obsessed with pets, and when I try to date, I sorta avoid men who have too many pet pics. I am merely trying to understand on a deeper level
Just try to interact with the pets themselves. I know some people don't maintain their pets well resulting in bad behavior. But otherwise just try to be with the pet for sometime and see for yourself. If you can't stomach stop dating that person and look for someone without pets.
Because they are pure. Just like the early days of having kids. Your kids love you with all their might and some points, all they need is love (until they become a teenager and start treating you like an ATM and Uber driver lol). Pets don’t change. When you treat them kindly, they give you love and devotion, just like a baby or toddler who see their parents as their whole world and love them purely.
We need someone to care for, and see that caring being acknowledged.

Cat owners here. It is annoying when ppl dote and fawn over their pets. Same is true with kids as well I think most cases are due to a filling of a void in their lives. The obvious is the spinster w 5 cats. For some it is about having something they can 100% control. Others it's about getting social acknowledgment, awards, and attaboys. For dog lovers I usually disclose one factoid that leaves many of them perplexed: humans actually bred dogs over the years to come with a mental deficiency. That affection you see is the affect of slight re tard-ation.
"Crazy cat person" is actually the other name for "catowners" look up in the internet over there how many people have gone nuts over cats.

I can only speak for dogs. They're probably the purest form of nothing-in-return love you could ever experience. Your wife/husband is on a different plane of existence than you do, so are your kids and everyone else. If you just treat them like your family they'll do anything to make you happy. Edit: I hate cats so I don't understand them and would love to hear why cat people are crazy :)

Actually no. Even dogs badly treated by owners stand by them. I'm sure they'd wonder what they did wrong but they still respect the owner. That innocence is why my heart sinks anytime I hear universities and the federal govt needlessly do tests on dogs. But you can't do anything about it. You can only keep your dog safe.
