Phone interview ending early

I recently had a phone interview with the hiring manager of the company. He mentioned that it is an initial screen for 30 mins. However after 15 mins he said that is all he needed to know and if I have any questions. Does this mean I bombed the interview? Anyone has experience with phone screens ending early and still proceeding to next rounds?

This is probably a bad sign. You were not a fit for the role more than likely.

Or he wad being pulled into the meeting... Or had a sudden bathroom urge. You don't know.

Yes, it was a video chat and I saw him raising his hand up to someone... trying to make something positive out of it πŸ™‚

Yep. He might just needed to go.

The relevant question is, how do you feel it went aside from the early end?

I've cut interviews early if we've gone through questions faster than expected but then also because the candidate has bombed and we're both wasting our time. You won't know for sure here though. Maybe if you asked questions you can tell from how much detail is given by the interviewer.

I think its unlikely here cuz it's an initial screen. And the phrase "I think I know enough" is definitely negative

Either really good or really bad
