No didn’t install any app. They don’t have any app. Is it possible that had kind of cellular equipment in the office !?

You think they put up a cell phone tower to man-in-the-middle, just to find out what you are texting about?

That's fucked up. I understand if your company asks for admin access to your phone (like my company does) if you try to get the official email app. Other than that you're smoking something.

Maybe you have signed on to Google from your phone and work laptop. And they tracked your location from Google from your laptop? Or maybe it's just a social engineering attack

Did you say bad thing about your company or sending their trade secrets to China? Snooping your phone may be illegal for your company, Selling their trade secrets, stealing time or other crimes may be worse for you.

^ TBH the context and answers you are providing make it very hard to understand what happened and what kind of advice could help.

That said, if you have any actual proof of misconduct by the company or an individual at the company you should get advice from an employment lawyer.

They can fire you for any reason*. So don't bring devices to work if they have content you'd rather they not see.

      * Fuck off if you're an armchair employment lawyer.

Yes they can monitor the office laptop and office phone as per the non disclosure agreement. But they used the same tools to monitor my personal phone.

OP, if you have proof, you need to be forthcoming with it. There's a lot of technical walls in the way of this happening easily. If you aren't connected to the network or have a device management app on your phone from the company, this is nearly impossible.
    Jan 23
    • Microsoft HtIB24
Anything that would make it possible is state actor level tech, and that's not going to be floating around a corp office without generating a lot of heat, and they certainly wouldn't be using it for something as stupid as spying on contractors if they did have it.

I am also a techie like you all I am Linux and Windows sys admin could understand how this happened. Even my friends didn’t believe me when I told them initially. Only after I got fired they believed !

Unless they had some sort of device management or admin access to your phone, this didn’t happen.

I’m sorry, didn’t mean to make light of your situation. My point was unless you gave them access to monitor your phone, they couldn’t have. Only the NSA can do that. They must have monitored you some other way.

Did you use their guest/employer wi-fi? Other than this I am assuming they physically ready your texts. Cell phone companies won’t give out your info.

This says to basically ditch your cell phone and replace it with a one-way alphanumeric pager, so no one snoops on you?

OP firstly everything you think has happened is entirely possible. It’s very simple: if you connect your phone to your laptop via charger cable and unlock it then the security software on the laptop will capture it. Most easy if it is backed up in iTunes on that laptop.

Likelihood is you lied about travelling somewhere and they had access to your phone data because it was connected to a laptop and then they fired you
    Jan 21
    • Chevron Dmdndndn
      OP
I don’t have to lie, as not much work was going on at the location where I was working. I didn’t connect usually to the laptop may be once or twice I might have connect !!!!! But most of the time I connect to the charger in the plug.
