What is your planned retirement age ?
I'm not that good with money nor make that much so I'll probably be working into my 60s if people will even hire me.
I’m in my late 30s and could retire now (fire) but more likely I’ll look for a less-effectively-monetized role doing something useful to the world by the time I’m 45. I don’t really want to stop working, but I do want to make sure I’m using my time to work on issues affecting the world that are important to me.
Like what
At 46 if ACA doesn’t get killed.
2008 seems to be a fading memory for people already. No advance plan to retire. If I retire, it would probably be a spot decision.
Why would you want to retire and let your brain turn to mush?
So true! People who are boasting about early retirement probably haven't seen anyone up close and observed what it does to their mind and body. YMMV
Only really marginal minds need a master telling them what to do in order to be creative, productive and thoughtful.
Define retirement? I've been retired in my definition for a long time but am still working.
Already retired at 29. Large inheritance of 10m. I just run some side businesses a few hours a week now. Woke up at 2 pm today and might grab some sushi then head to the gym ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
