I’m trying to change my team and move to a more impactful project that has formed 2 years ago. Since then, the team has been very successul and they now have 40+ eng and 5+ subteams. The main manager (that has very top ratings and is very senior) hired a new manager to create another subteam (the new one will report to the previous one). I dont know anything about him but I know the skip manager is great and the project is impactful.

Should I join the new subteam? or It might be dangerous? (I’m worried since I’m changing my team to get into a good one, and would like to know if this is a flag)

Yes! The new manager is L6 or 7, the previous one (that will be the skip is L8)

Before joining the team, meet with new mgr over formal interview by them. It will help you.

It’s dangerous. Don’t do dangerous things or take any risks, it’s bad.

But I cannot find a good team honestly; everything seems just incremental with no deadline/actual launch

Leave google. All other companies are notorious for having endless launches and deadlines, no matter which team you join.
