I have an idea that is really interesting to pursue since the market isn't yet saturated. But I cannot code. I have tried to outsource the engineering via contracting online, the devs and I aren't on the same page. At this point, I desperately need a technical cofounder and/or founding engineer before that idea gets run on by others. We could both pursue this idea as a side project part-time for the engineering part. I need at least an MVP. Hit me up if you can help me. We can work out a deal. I'm currently attending a boot camp with the hopes that I will be able to build it myself in 1 month but to no avail.
I cant tell if this is sarcasm or real
This is real bro. Very real.
if i had a dollar for every “idea” guy
you're right. it's tough for non-technical folks to get running.
Bro how about we start a site where idea guys can pitch their idea to technical founders for $1. I can’t code it though, looking for a technical founder
For 2k I’ll sit down for an hour and hear your pitch. Money up front.
Sounds good, payment plan? $500 tonight?
I’m sorry but I’m afraid I just can’t do that for $500. I would need to have it all up front.
I can help . I love coding and can help you
I can help on how you got engineers. But tbh nothing is too hurried as you won’t be as fast as big companies copying you.
Thanks for the heads up. Can I DM you, please?
Lol, you should try and raise some capital, like 500k+. As someone who worked in startups, ideas are great, but you really need money if you want things to materialize
Agreed! Most people I have talked to in the VC space want to see an MVP or some sort of proof of concept.
Just some honest advice, Blind is very engineer-heavy and most of us have heard lots of similar pitches over the years. You might find some fresh college grad (or current student) interested to help; otherwise more experienced people would want to work with entrepreneurs with some track of success. (And usually those ones already have engineers they work with, unless they suck...in which case they will likely spin their failures as successes. That’s a different story though.)
I don't know how to thank you enough for this timely and brutal advice. I really appreciate you.
Irrespective of your idea : Who are you ? Why should we believe in you ? Convince us. It’s not only about the idea. The person is important too.
you're right. once I connect with the person, I'll tell him/her about my background.
Au contraire.... if you open up here, the right match would be motivated to put a step forward and dm you .... being closed doesn’t help you and will probably only get you DMs from half interested people who will unintentionally waste your time
Startups are always fun, hit me if you need help.
Nah
Okay!
Oh man...all your responses are so nice that I feel bad now. Sorry, there are lots of posts like this on blind from people with ideas but no coding ability. What does your capital situation look like?
