The integrity of territory is the political correctness in China. US companies should know that when doing business with china. We should also understand different countries have different “political correctness” just like US. Do you have the freedom of speech on political correctness issues in US? No. edit: I am not saying I support china gov. I just try to explain the reason why this happened.
Yeah, if a contestant openly advocates for white supremacy ideas and attracts lots of hatred, I’m sure he/she will be banned from the game as well.
Agree
Tyrant needs to be stopped
How does white supremacy equate with asking for representative government and no extradition to disappear-you-prisons?
Both attract lots of hatred from gamers.
Pesky huddled masses wanting freedoms and not to be disappeared by fascists!!
There's a bit of a difference between "political correctness" like not calling people slurs. And banning people for supporting those fighting for their freedom
Am I americanized if I'm like a 5th generation American dude from the midwest. I think I'm just American to begin with.
Why should I care about China's version of political correctness? My values don't change depending on the country
So does the Chinese. You ever seen they care about American's value?
But Blizzard cares. And they are within their rights to ban a player.
The US has freedom of speech for a very specific reason. It exists because there was widespread state sponsored terrorism and killings of people who the governments in Europe didn’t like. China is objectively carrying out exactly this type of persecution on its citizens while it’s still impossible for this to happen in the US.
You don’t say “Trump wins” in your company everyday. Or maybe you do? Then you are probably not an MSFT employee anymore.
My team knows I support Trump. And if they tried to get rid of me I’d claim racism since I’m a minority. Freedom of speech seems to work 😁
Blizzard banned two casters of APAC tournament, is APAC controlled by China now? OP’s statement just followed latest trend in those Chinazi forums.
The issue is that the companies are starting to be on China’s side, propagating a state sponsored system of censorship even in the US! If they wouldn’t do business in China they wouldn’t care what these people have to say, but it’s scary to see a country’s impact on another. The strings they have ahold on in this country are starting to show.
They only want apolitical people in their systems.
That’s a tough line to walk. But I guess that’s the advantage of capitalism. Where blizzard chose the money and an “apolitical” path, epic may be coming in saying freedom of expression is fine - curious to see how this unfolds
u should scream in a theater “fire fire”
