Honestly, the MS-Sony partnership felt like a hasty reaction to Google's announcement. Think we need more time before we can tell whether they can actually deliver - if they do, no way Stadia can beat the already well established user base of PS4/Xbox.

It’s not just google. FB is in Gaming, Amazon is trying. Before you know, in next 5 years the gaming world will be different. Also, with smartphones getting more and more power, even Apple should be considered a threat to traditional gaming.
Nobody, because the whole idea is pretty niche. The set of people who care enough about games to want to play AAA titles, who don't already own decent gaming hardware, yet who also don't care at all about adding input latency, is fairly small. I'm excited about it for strategy or turn-based games but nothing that requires fast reaction time will ever be satisfying on any of these. (And most strategy type games can be played fine on a very modest machine.)
But doesn't the console population fit into that description pretty well? If the price point and quality is right, people may just switch to a subscription instead of getting PS5 or Xbox 24 or whatever. Playing on console isn't ideal for a lot of games (ex. competitive fps games in pc vs console) but people still play them on console.
People said the same thing about online multiplayer games some time ago. Boy, were they wrong. These are not 1 year bets but more like 5-10 year or longer bets.
I am a PS fan, but I look forward to Stadia. there is a huge gaming market in developing countries where access to consoles are difficult and expensive. If a streaming service delivers similar experience like playing Fortnite, that can be a game changer.

Yea, I do but I am unbiased in this topic. I use a MacBook and I love it. I think Amazon did a great job with Alexa and creating a developer ecosystem with Alexa skills. And I don't like the Pixel design
Unless Microsoft platform is significantly worse (like 5-10x times, in reality or perceived), Google has no chance. Gaming business has seen multiple times that content wins the mass market way more than pure technical superiority in terms of graphics, framerates, etc. See PS4 and Xbox one x, Nintendo switch, etc. Google has 0 content, Microsoft and Sony have thousands of games they can make accessible through their subscription service.
I would say neither, cloud gaming is doomed to remain a playground only for casual gamers and they don't invest nearly as much into their gaming experiences as hardcore gamers
cloud gaming is garbage. witcher 3 model is what everyone should be following. game is so good with no drm of any kind including the evesopopular these days being connected online to play single player games (assasins creed looking at u). build a great game and people will gladly pay for it outright as witcher series proves so welll
Don't you think Fortnite makes more money than Witcher? DLC and customization is the future of gaming, for better or for worse.
what i am saying is high quality single player games do not need cloud or any other drm that makes it impossible to play the game you paid for if there is an outage or any other reason i am sure fortnite makes money because its addictive especially for younger kids buts its a crappy game compared even to something like unreal tournament let alone witcher
