Possible to get into SWE without a degree on H4 visa?
About to get married. My fiance knows how to code but doesn't have a formal degree in SWE. She has been doing server testing and support in Dell. Can she get a job here in the bay area? TC: 200k
Not sure if you are following h4-ead news, it takes several months to get h4 and then ead. There is an active discussion going on about dropping h4-ead program. So I would not bet on h4-ead rather find someone to sponsor h1b.

Yes, she can. Getting a job as an SWE might be very hard but not unheard of. I personally know two who do that but they have an MS in the US from before they went on H4. My recommendation would be to take up something part time while saving up for grad school - it's more practical. There are many I know who took up part time secretary, receptionist or tutor type of jobs.
First of all, no one can get a job on H4 Visa. Can you clarify your question, is your wife looking for a job or study in a college for SW degree??
Why not? If u have an approved I-140, your spouse is eligible to apply for H4 EAD
I meant H4 EAD. She is employed in India right now. She will move here after a few months, so I wanted to know if she can get a job or will she need to get a degree?
