Had my onsite interview yesterday with FB for E4/E5 general SWE. Wondering if anyone knew what the typical response time is? I emailed my recruiter but got no response about the timeline. I was under the impression feedback was immediate. I feel like I did well on everything except for one of the follow up questions for the coding interview and system design. I feel like my system design interviewer didn’t like me and he didn’t wanna be there; gave the vibe off that the interview was a waste of his time. What does FB’s hiring bar look like? Do all the coding interviews have to be perfect? YOE: 2.5 including 1 year of internship
forget about fb, their bar is soooo high recently.
Lmfao why would you think you will get E4 with such a small short YOE. Did the recruiter promise you? Well if you really are interviewing for E4 good luck and you should hear back in less than a week (general case)
I just assumed E4 was entry level for people already in industry and E3 was for university recruits only? I’d be more than happy with E3, I know I have the work ethic to do well there once I get in. Also, I don’t think they have system design interview for E3.
E3 for people < 5 YOE.
Well I just gave you a time frame so be on the look out. And it's good that you have the work ethic to climb the ladder you will need it
Isn't it that Facebook has a hiring freeze for lower than E5?
If that were the case my onsite would’ve been canceled.
what location?
Seattle
What did they ask on the interview?
E3 ~= 3 YOE. E4 ~=5/6. E5 = 6+ YOE. You should be interviewed as E3/E4. No way you would be setup for E5 loop
Is this true even now? I have around 2.6 years experience and my recruiter put me in E4 loop and I probably failed system design
Less than a week.
YOE
2.5, 1 of which is internship.
joking^ FB is possible though.
