I’ve been using food delivery app to feed myself for a very long time. After trying out all kinds of apps, I chose Postmates since it’s cheaper and offers more choices. Recently I noticed Postmates added their own fees to menu prices. But the price are ridiculously high. And they don’t make it consistent across UIs. A hot wings combo in KFC for 9.25 when in search it says it’s 7. When it claims it does not charge members extra delivery fee, Postmates adds unacceptable hidden fees to menu prices. What happens to this company, is it going to bankrupt? Maybe that can explain this illogical business decision.
They filed to go public, they need to start making money.
I think they are trying to do a crazy new thing called paying their workers reasonable wages.
The merchant sets fees—sometimes they will set it above their normal prices to offset our take. We try to discourage this but can’t enforce it as we simply don’t know their normal prices.
