Anyone have any tips on prepping for stripe swe interview? I have read that it’s less algo and more practical. Specifically, they drop you in an open source project and make you fix a few bugs. Any good resources for practicing that?
Well I could be wrong here, but it seems like the best way to prepare for finding bugs in open source software would be to find bugs in open source software. Crazy, I know. If only there was buggy open source software you could practice with. Or just regular software you've written that you could work on.
if you’re a good swe you’ll be fine in the bug finding thing. just use common sense like reading the code, running tests and breakpoints. not that bad
Be careful, they like to butt in while you're reading through, which is extremely distracting. You will be given some hash maps, and you will need to code up some comparator functions to fill in a class based on parsing those maps and pass their premade test cakes. If they butt in and give you some hints, then those are minuses and you lose.
Very elusive. Not sure.
