Preparing for new grad positions
Currently doing a winter internship at Tesla and then I have a summer internship at Roblox for a few months. I’ve started making connection and networking to meet the right people when it becomes time to apply for new grad positions. I’m wondering when applications and interviewing for new grad positions (May 2020) start. I’m really interested in APM programs so I wanted to get a head start but I’ll also study and apply for SWE as well Appreciate any help and insights!
It is really important to prepare over the summer by reading PM interview books and doing mock interviews if you can. As the other poster said, top APM programs post jobs in August and start interviewing in September/October and you don’t want your first APM interview to be with Google. https://link.medium.com/R2OwWe9NTV is a good resource for programs and dates.
Thank you so much for the help and advice! I actually had my first APM internship interview with Google last year and it didn’t go so well but I’ll be sure to prepare better this time!
For May 2020, start applying from August 2019. Most of the big players start recruiting for next Spring/Summer positions from August. Don't be late and try to submit applications as soon as those are posted.

Yes, they do hire university grads for APM positions.
