I think all this is just eyewash. I don't see why companies play with ethics the way it suits them. Company has a fiduciary responsibility towards it's shareholders to maximize it's income and I feel happy Amazon is doing just that.

The company has a responsibility to their shareholders. But the people running the company have a responsibility to behave ethically unless they want to be considered unethical people. That’s why they turn down controversial business opportunities.

My point being they are opportunistically ethical. There are tons of places where companies take advantage of the loopholes in the laws and act unethically. That behavior passes under the radar. However chose to project ethical behavior where optics suit them. The most popular situation being tax havens.

Foreign governments would definitely be a different issue since there is not a standard for human rights globally.

But context matters and the context here is US government agencies so I see no problem selling services to the US government that are following the laws made by the lawmakers “we the people” voted into office. If we don’t agree with the laws, we need to vote different lawmakers into office to make changes.

The people who try to cross are illegally trying to get here. "Children of immigrants" is intellectually dishonest. You may also be surprised but there are a non-zero amount of kids who were kidnapped to make it easier to get across the border for this exact reason. So they're not even crossing with their actual family.
