How many problems (leetcode) did you guys solve in order to get into FAANG or Top Tier company such as Airbnb, Uber and etc?
None, I didn't know what leetcode was.
How did you prepare for interviews? Ctci?
^ MIT grad btw
Zero. Never done coding practice for interviews and never will. Work isn't highschool and interview isn't a final exam.
How do you go about preparing for interviews?
You might have noticed that you're firmly in the minority.
No practice for when I joined google out of school. Admittedly internship interview isn’t hard. No practice for Microsoft and amazon though. I feel like the hardest part is actually understanding what’s being asked. Once you get that far, the code is easy
this person had superior schooling.
Do you struggle more with the code than what’s being asked? Isn’t it our job to be good with code?
Zero, there was no Leetcode back then.
I prefer Hackerrank - develops your problem solving skills better and is much more interesting/challenging. Solved <100 Hackerrank problems and <10 Leetcode (just to see what it is).
Two here.
Did all of them when there were about 600 questions...
Didn’t count them, but did almost 400 over 6 months and got offers from Airbnb Uber and Google. Rejected from 3 others. In hindsight I wish I had done the same (or a bit lower) amount of problems over fewer months.
About 10-20. You don’t really need to solve that many problems, just have to understand the general pattern and different question categories.
Damn are you a genius?
