I'm a Product Owner in Denver at a large company and have just over 1 year of experience. How much is a normal range to be making?? Possible follow up question: how and when should I ask for a raise?
80K
So I'm making 75. I've been at this new company for a few months, and moved from Seattle where I was making 80. Figured the pay cut was because cost of living is less and I was switching from consulting to industry. How and when do I ask for a raise?
Speak openly and frankly with your supervisor. If you feel you are paid below market, try to understand why. Perhaps the company doesn't have the funding it needs for your role, they don't realize you are under paid. If the former, decide if there's a good reason to invest your time there. Will you gain valuable skills? Is the environment pleasant? Is there significant growth potential? If you wish to ask for a raise, have some research in hand and do a self-evaluation so you have some good talking points when you bring up the subject. Ask your supervisor what you can do to merit more compensation. Prepare for that discussion by brainstorming some reasonable milestones of your own that will easily showcase your skills and good performance. Good luck!
For entry level I would expect between $80k and $120k in Denver.
