Well, things like R will probably be continued to use in their domain, but their adoption will always be domain specific. I think it might be hipster now, but I'm surprised you left off Rust. That does a lot of stuff well, and seems to be up and coming. What's most likely is something we don't expect though.

Creating any data structure more complicated than an array is too hard. And the pointer syntax doesn't have a consistent feel to it, unlike C/C++.
