I’m about to start at Facebook as a new grad, and I hear the expectations are pretty strict (E4 within 2 years, E5 within 3 after E4). I’m sure I’ll learn a lot about this stuff on the job, but does anyone have any external resources that provide good tips on getting promotions and growing as an engineer? Also, is there anything Facebook-specific I should be aware of (playing politics or that sort of stuff)? I want to get into the habit of reading about this stuff every day. Blogs, articles, books, etc would be greatly appreciated! Answers from all are appreciated! (I tagged Facebook for my second question)

I’ll look into these more. Thanks!

Is it true many Indian couples are in sexless marriage?
If you have a good manager they will help you with a lot of this. If you let them know you're interested in promotion and advancement and career development, they should be a great resource. If your manager isn't very helpful with that, I'd encourage you to seek additional mentorship, like seniors in related areas, or even people you meet outside the company. Your manager should ideally be a great resource, But ultimately your career is up to you.
Yeah I definitely am hoping to find a good manager and mentors, but is there anything I can do either before I join the company or after hours to supplement that?
One thing that I think would be helpful, that I never did when I was younger, is come up with a 5/10 / 20 year sort of plan for what I want to accomplish in my career. I think if you have that, even in broad strokes, it could help guide your development.
