In Oracle it’s well know fact that promotion does not bring raise to salary but gets you more work and responsibilities.. what’s the practice in other groups and organizations...
10+% base increase. Depending on your current range they will put you in the low to mid range of next level. Also more refreshers and bonus based on level.
That’s just bizarre, how do you still work there?
At Booking.com it depends if its a promotion or a latter move, in both you get a salary raise, in promotion its higher than lateral move
At MS, i got around 10% base pay hike for promotion and then the regular cash and stock awards for the year
Not true. It's usually 5%, it can get close to 10% if you get promo'd mid year and is also counting the annual merit increases (2-5%). What helps at Microsoft is that there's twice as much levels so in essence you get promo'd every 1-2 years.
For ICs at Netflix we don’t have promotions (all have the same senior title) but we do annual comp reviews where your pay is adjusted based on any changes to your personal top of market. Increases can range from 0% to 20%, with most cases I’ve seen getting around 5-10%.
I got promoted this year and got a 13% base increase and about 2x the usual stock grant
At ms salary increases. The amount depends on several factors like your current salary, level, promo trajectory etc. Range is something like 7% (5% promo, 2% merit during review) % to about 13% (8% promo, 5% merit). Each level gets an increase in stocks and certain levels (63, 65, 67) get an increase in bonus ranges (15-30%, 20-40%, 30-60%) as well.
This. + there's twice as many levels at Microsoft so promos occur pretty often.
Lol. This is bad

Amazon gets you a pay bump (unless you’ve hit the base pay cap) and more RSUs.
