Update: I was told that I am eligible for a promotion but I will not get any salary raise in percent since I am at the apex of the compensation class. F MY LIFE Around more than a month before my manager said he would recommend me for promotion and he would start by doing the documentation in 1-1 meeting. Again he said his manager has verbally approved it and he will work with HR. Two weeks ago had a meeting lined up with HR and his manager. I followed up last week on ping, got cold-shouldered. In meanwhile, I pinged HR and asked her last week she said I should be hearing from manager soon and the process is a little different since I am a college hire. Today I asked my manager again he said he is following up and got mildly cold-shouldered. Really not sure WTF is going on, I am losing money on the table due to this BS I think my TC is high for a college hire, maybe that's why they are stalling me. I am in mid of a good and exciting project and this shit distracts me. Any advice from senior employees on what's up? TC: 110K (Indianapolis)
In all honesty, I dont know, I'm a warehouse manager and whenever I have told someone that there in line for a promotion I either give it to them or I let them down easy, best I can think of is by saying your in line for it means you will work harder, but that isnt allowed by most companys and can be treated as an unfair practice, I would continue chasing up HR and if that goes nowhere then look at the legal side of things for your area, as you said there's money on the table so dont let it slip away
I already work hard man and stand out compared to the team, pretty sure it's not this tactic. Thanks, though
that’s exactly what it is. Dangling carrot to keep you investing more. Once you think you’re almost there you’d also be less likely to jump ship.

Yeah it is a stall tactic. Maybe they're having headcount issues.
I don't mind being told no promotion for you but stall game sucks big time
How long have you been there as a college hire?
