Since Comcast came to SLC around 15 years ago they haven’t done a single cost of living increase. HR seems to only look after Comcast and NEVER the employee. A lot of firings of lately that are causing people to question leadership. Any opinions?
It’s hard to form a union when unemployment is so low and the work is white collar. It isn’t exactly a textile factory in West Virginia... Also HR exists to protect the company from its employees, you must be new.
Pros: if you’re an employee. Cons: if you’re an employer.
I get COL raises. Not in SLC but in West Division.
I’ve been with the company too long to start over somewhere else. I’d give up all my extra vacation time and I don’t want to do that. I would consider the technical side more blue collar. And we get 3% merit increases but nothing that keeps up with the COL.
The average yearly raise at Intel usually doesn't reach 3%. Not sure about COL, haven't been here long enough to see a long term adjustment like that
Starting wages are substantially lower at Comcast though.
