Hello folks, I want to change my career from sysadmin to SWE/SDE. But I don't know which language should I learn, if I want to join FAANG. Note: I have a lot of experience in MS technologies ( AD, ADFS, Exchange, Powershell etc..) I don't want to join SWE at MS :) Thanks in advance.
There are way more .net jobs. Also new .net is really good. Don’t let old opinions of it drive you away
Lmao
Very true. I have plenty of new opinions to help drive you away
Learn Python, C# Dev here
Which framework do you recommend?
Python + leetcode 🙂
Assembler
Stop asking. Start learning
That's why I'm asking. If the goal is just learning then it's not a good goal at all
If you want to join FAANG, I would highly recommend switching to macOS and starting learning Python/Go/Ruby/JS or whatever else, but not .NET/C#. Also forget about Azure and focus on AWS/GCP.
I will 😊
Counter thought. Switching to fang is a big ask. Take a look at job postings for the two and see what type of jobs interest you more. And if you learn CS language doesn't matter.
Learn Java or C++ as best as you can and learn Python, Scala, Go, and JavaScript adequately.

C# is by far a better programming language but F/G have no use for it. Pick up Python if you want to work in the valley.
Thanks, in this case do I need c++ as additional skill ? Or python is enough ? I'm speaking just about the language, regardless other things like algorithms and data structure.
C++ is generally not super essential, but Go might prove useful.
