How to become a Product Manager? Currently I am a QAManager with 12 years of experience in various methodologies. I did development, DevOps,QA and project management in the past. I am applying for all the product manager roles but did not receive any call. How to crack it?
what makes you think that you would be a good PM? and why do you want to become one? answer these in a way that the hiring manager would find attractive. no one cares if you were a QA manager for 12 centuries.
This is the most important question to answer. Being a good PM is about being able to craft a narrative people buy into. It’s not about knowing a process or methodology. What’s your narrative? Why do you want to be a PM, and what’s your value add?
Lol QA manager hahahahaha
You need to start doing the PM role at your current company in some fashion so you have a good story to tell. This will mean taking on additional work and convincing a PM to let you help them. User interviews, roi analysis, etc.
Do you know PM basics? What is your Why?

Product management is totally different from project management which is mostly people management. If you are planning to switch from cognizant to FAANG, just switch as an engineer. Switching as a product manager to FAANG from desi companies is not straightforward
