I'm essentially trying to maximize TC to FIRE. After getting an internship offer at Jane Street which pays almost double what I made as an intern at Google, I'm interested in new grad salaries for quant companies like Jane Street, Citadel, Two Sigma, etc.. Also, how high does TC go in these companies? Would switching back to be say L5/L6 level at a big tech company after a few years be better in terms of TC?
New grad usually around 250k + 100k signing for bachelors. Potentially somewhat more or less depending experience or competing offers. Top range usually 400k all-in.
Our typical new grad offer is around 200k base/100k bonus/100k signing. I think you would have to be doing quite poorly here for FAANG to be a step up in comp after a few years.
Yeah, and after "a few years" transferring to FANG you'd probably get placed at L3 and make < $200k TC. Jane Street kicks our ass in comp.
Why would you get placed at L3?
How are the quant company interviews? Standard leetcode and sys design BS?
Congrats on the offer!
Thank you!

What do you wanna do after FIRE? Just curious
Burn the money
Spend time with and/or take care of my parents, explore new countries, volunteer, get more into cooking (my true passion lmao). Maybe RE isn't the right word, because I'll probably still at least work part time. But FI is definitely one of my biggest goals.
