Hi Blind, I'm currently interviewing for a summer 2020 Quant Trader internship and was wondering if you guys had any insights into the interview process at IMC and or thoughts about the company. I'm also interviewing with Akuna for Quant and Dev positions so any insight for prop shops/ or those two companies in general would be really helpful!

I haven’t done shit today!
I interviewed with both (failed onsite for each). Both interview processes were a lot of fun but very very different. Akuna (quant researcher) has a very high leetcode bar and although the first few rounds the stats problems were relatively cheesy, some deep problems were asked onsite. They also make you work out all the calculus. IMC (quant trader) was not about coding at all although they asked one or two conceptual questions. I think IMC’s interview process is specifically designed to get you to think on your feet and to have problems that aren’t easily shared with other candidates etc. In general, I think the difference in interview processes do reflect the nature of each role. Good luck.
