Quit Amazon
Hi guys, I joined Amazon 1 month ago. I found out the team is not a good fit for me (the commute is terrible everyday going to work as well), and I got an offer from another big FAANG. How soon can I quit the job in Amazon? Is there any legal policy in Amazon saying new hires can't do this until a certain time period? Thank you in advance!
If you’re in the US you’re at-will and can leave whenever. You might have to pay back your bonus, but I’m not sure with Amazon’s strange comp structure.

Sign on bonus says "earned when paid" and in fact provides for even a pro-rated month based on days worked, so no payback.

Yeah, I would quit right away. You'll regret it for a long time if you don't. Plenty of people who join Amazon quit within a month.
Is that true? How did you know it? Were you an Amazonian? That's a surprise for me actually.
I was an Amazonian. I believe that working at Amazon is great for happiness. It helps you appreciate other companies a lot more when you leave.

You will have to pay back most of your relo expenses if Amazon paid. Also if you ever want to rejoin you’ll need a solid reason for the one month tenure. As a Manager, I might wonder if you had really accurately assessed Amazon and knew what you were getting into before starting.

Yes- to pay back relo costs- read your contract. And they go after you if you don’t poney up the money- make that cash for the other offer- hey I’d love to come but I don’t have x $ to pay back

I don’t think so. You wouldn’t be blacklisted from other teams I’m sure since ur not leaving with bad performance
