Dont have faith in business model or leadership - mea culpa: on me to have better guaged this coming in. Still possible to get some learnings out of the role, but company is likely to flatline and doesnt have best talent. Ok to leave if nothing is terribly off but it’s not truly motivating? How could I message in future interviews?
How long ago joined? I'm in similar position at startup but I haven't even been a year :(
I left after 11 months..even though the startup is doing great..had no desire to work for a c suite person who claimed the head of security title without any security background nor he ever listened to the teams expertise on security projects
I left a company after a month when all the employees kept offering me their prescription meds and alcohol. Plus there was no work for me. My project only required one hour of my time; a week. Don't stay in a place with no growth or future.
Dude are you crazy, you could've work on side projects if you had a lot of extra free time left... Omg such a waste! It had to be me lol Tell me who they are I'll go join them
I like your style @cookie ;)
Get out. I've been there. You'll know when you've found the right company.
Tempting! But where to go? Will take a while before lining up next gig
It's hard to know before joining unfortunately if your team etc will be good. But big names and up and coming industries (autonomous cars and personal aircraft, biotech, AI, etc) are very exciting right now. The important thing is to take the leap.
Yeah plenty of amazing startups out there
Plenty startups but you never know how it will turn out. If you’re in managerial role, be careful. You might not get headcount even as the co ramps up. Ask and get a promise before going in. A lot depends on upper mgmt, if they can’t get their act together, it’s a sinking ship, and know when to cut your losses.
Flip on this q, how would you preceive candidates w multiple 1yr+ experience at multiple startups?
