Joined in March and plan to quit in October. If I am asked to return sign on bonus, will I have to return the full amount or the prorated amount? Also, will I have to return relocation allowance?
Look at your original offer letter you signed when you joined. It’s all written in black and white.
You should just stick it out for a full year and then take off.
I was given an advice to stay at least for a year before you either go out or rotate internally.
What the rationale behind the advice?
1. Your resume 2. Because you have to return the sign on bonus
By the way can you tell us what exactly is the problem?
Culture of extreme secrecy, broken processes, management not very good at distributing tasks to ICs appropriately.
If you're allowed to say you work there on LinkedIn, your claim of "extreme secrecy" is hyperbole (especially if you can put your specific team).
On paper you are supposed to return full sign on bonus and relocation pre taxed. You can ask for pro-rated or straight up forgiven, ive seen some people succeeding(me personally too). All depends on how you come across when you leave them.

Why are you quitting?
Can’t tolerate how things work in the org and Apple in general.
Neither could I. But I’d recommend toughing it out til a year to avoid issues.
