RSU and start date
New employee at FB. RSU vest every 3 months at set dates. I just started and missed the feb 15 date. So from what I understand my RSU start date is on May 15 and first vest on 15 Aug. So does that mean effectively I don’t get any RSU equivalent of income until May?
So you have to join before 15th of the month?
No. Mid quarter.
In August, you get the pro rated amount from March to August so your first vest will be higher than nornal

Is this actually true? The vest start date is the next stock event. For OP, that’s May 15. So in Aug, he’ll get RSU for May- Aug.
On Aug 15th, you will get 3/48th of your grant, plus: a) none for start date 4/16 - 5/15, b) 1/48th for start date 3/16 - 4/15, or c) 2/48th for start date 2/16 - 3/15. The proration is discrete, not per day basis.

Thanks - but is that August for only May-Aug or is it from May-Aug? It sounds like it’s from May. So I don’t get any RSU compensation for Mar-May.
